This course aims to cover the underlying principles and critical aspects of DNA diagnostic methodology and interpretation. Participants will learn the fundamentals of DNA diagnostics with significant hands-on experience in:
- DNA isolation
- Restriction enzyme analyses
- Gel electrophoresis
- PCR and primer design
- Mutation detection by sequencing (analyse traces), result analysis and interpretation
- Report writing and bioinformatics (SNP and mutation sequence retrieval from DNA databases).
Dates: 13th - 15th June 2016 (9am Mon - 2pm Wed)
